Interior Design Principles to get you start

Few things in life are as daunting as decorating your first home. With so many options available and so many decisions to make, it’s hard not to feel overwhelmed. In this post I am giving you some of the main principle that the designers use to get started.
When doing interior design it is necessary to think of the house as a totality; a series of spaces linked together by halls and stairways. It is therefore appropriate that a common style and theme runs throughout. This is not to say that all interior design elements should be the same but they should work together and complement each other to strengthen the whole composition.

Colours in our lives

Psychological research supports the premise that colour affects the body in different ways. The following are some body changes that take place around colour:
  • BLUE slows the heart rate, suppresses hunger and reduces blood pressure.
  • RED increases blood pressure and motor-skills activities. It also sharpens the appetite.
  • YELLOW increases cardiopulmonary activity, so it is very exciting, and it can also be irritating to be around for some people.
  • GREEN (a mix of blue and yellow) is a well balanced colour, good for speech development.

Happy New 2017 !

When the Christmas is over and the tree is down, the decorations packed up, and the holiday china back in storage not to see the light of day until next November. When the excess of the holidays come to an end you can be left with a pretty empty feeling. Don't let the post-party depression seep into your home decor. Incorporate some of these friendly accents and keep that warm and fuzzy feeling flowing.

Neutral colours -best choice of the Interior Designers

Do you think neutral colors are boring? We are going to debunk the myth that bold is better.
Of course, there is always room for pops of color in your life, but there are a lot of good reasons to stick with a neutral color scheme for your interior design.
Neutral colors don’t have to be boring! In fact, a calm, neutral backdrop allows you to bring out some pretty bold elements into your design that may otherwise look garish. So, put down that can of red paint, at least for a moment, and read this first…

Bedroom colour ideas that will wake you up happier.

It can often be the forgotten room in your home because no one else sees it — but it should be the exact opposite, because it's the one space where you get to recharge.
Creating a look around a single color is one of the most stylish ways to decorate: The key to choosing color schemes is to focus on a favorite shade then echo and offset it with the perfect partners. From fiery hues to calming blues, follow our rules for success:
Yellow is not the easiest color to decorate with, but if you get it right, yellow can be sunny and uplifting.

Why you need an Interior Designer?

Lifestyle -your lifestyle is how you choose to live and express yourself on a day to day basis.
It begins with your home environment, extends to the way you dress,to what your choices  are for cars, pets, vacations and by extension ,to your family members.
Life should be lived as smoothly ,cleanly and comfortably as possible. It begins with a home that truly makes you happy.
For most people ,having an ID is the key to accomplish this.
Here are main reasons why not everyone is working with a designer.

The ceiling colour ideas

White ceilings are just an every day thing we don’t give much thought to. Regardless of wall color ceilings are most often go as white but why is that? What about other colors?
Well, while a white ceiling will reflect light and make the room appear bigger and airier other colors will make it more interesting.

Yes White  is the choice for most traditional interiors.
The first time I ve ever seen different colour of a ceiling was when I went to my landlords house. His and his wife are both well known architects.

Engage the 5 Senses to Inspire Workplace Productivity

Sight. Sound. Touch. Taste. Smell. Every sense has the power to influence how we perceive the world and how we remember experiences. So what if a space was designed with all 5 senses in mind? Would that make us happier? More productive? More engaged? These questions have been examined by numerous researchers.
Sensory design elements such as colors, lighting, sounds, textures and smells are now purposefully adapted to enhance the work environment and increase productivity.
Here’s a look at how the 5 senses impact employee performance and how you can strategically incorporate sensory design in your workplace:

Books do furnish a room

The first time you run out of space for your books is a rite of passage for booklovers. It’s the moment that you realise the extent of your addiction to these papery worlds. It’s also a time of anxiously wondering what on earth you’ll do with all the books you have yet to accumulate. Double stacking, piles on the floor, and visits to the charity shop are really just temporary measures; the only satisfactory solution is to get a new bookcase or to use your books to furnish the space.

Valspar- Find your colour!

I am very exited to tell you about this new paint. It is called Valspar.
We had to buy this paint for a client. There is a standard and premium and the difference between those 2 is that the premium contains primer which makes it good 1 coat paint.
They mix the paint while you are having to look around in the vast selection of home staff in B & Q
The colours to chose are so many and I picked just a few for you to see. They actually go really well together.

White might be  an easy choice ,but it can't bring a feeling or emotion into your home design.
